I wonder whether anger itself is really the wasted time, or whether remaining inside it long after it has stopped being useful is. Anger can reveal injustice, hurt, violated boundaries and things we deeply valuue.

Perhaps maturity is not becoming less capable of anger, but becoming better at hearing what it came to tell us — and then knowing when to let it leave...

I think anger in general is not helpful. Yes, if something upsets you or feels unjust, it should prompt you to act. If you are not willing to act to rectify something, then being angry serves no purpose other than to embitter you. This is what we are seeing everywhere. I'll mention politics here, though I do not get into the topic. If we are all as angry with where we are going in our nation, then why don't we truly effect change and do something about it. We don't. We keep placing the other side on the same coin in office year after year, and then we fester when nothing changes. We know both sides are corrupt; neither will get anything done, and we keep repeating the process as though it's the only option. And we stay angry. Not the way life should be.
